Domaine Michel Dupont-Fahn Meursault Les Vireuils, 2022 – Burgundy
Domaine Michel Dupont-Fahn’s Meursault has a unique ‘forward’ style which sets it apart from the others. His style of Meursault is rich and fruity as opposed to the more linear styles. He always harvests very late, which means that the yield per hectare is always low, and he bottles early. This leads to extremely rich, exuberant, and buttery wines, high in alcohol and low in acidity, ready to drink without waiting for the usual citric edges to soften. It has lovely pebbly notes followed by aromas of lemon and cloves. The palate has intense rich fruit aromas with complex flavours, the long finish is wonderful. This Meursault is a wonderful example of this great appellation. We are proud to have been exclusive UK agents for his wines since 1992!
Food Pairing: Fantastic with chicken, fish and mature cheeses.
Domaine Jean-Max Roger Sancerre La Cote du Bué 2016 – Loire
The nose is very complex: it boasts primarily floral aromas along with notes of spices, vanilla and ginger. Starts off bold on the palate, evolving towards a slightly tannic finish that lends overall freshness. An absolutely stunning and powerful Sancerre!
Food Pairing: Seafood and fish
Picpoul de Pinet Prestige 2023 Domaine Cabrol, Languedoc-Roussillon
Domaine Cabrol Picpoul de Pinet Prestige is a round, elegant, and mineral wine with grapefruit aromas and the typical freshness of the grape variety.
Food Pairing: Seafood, especially oysters, and fish.
Château Val Joanis Réserve Les Aubépines, Lubéron, 2022, Rhône
Les Aubépines is essentially the result of Roussanne’s best plot selection. Produced in small quantities, this fresh and ample wine develops white flowers, toasted brioche, and pear aromas.
Food pairing: Grilled fish such as tuna and roast chicken.
El Jardin De La Emperatriz Rioja Blanco, Rioja Alta 2023, Hermanos Hernáiz, Spain
Second wine of Finca de La Emperatriz. This white Rioja has gorgeous aromas of mango, peach, and lemon on the nose. Plenty of freshness, fruitiness, and balanced acidity. Very unctuous and elegant.
Food Pairing: Grilled fish, shellfish, garlicky prawns.
Lawson’s Dry Hills Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, 2023, New Zealand
Sauvignon Blanc is the flagship wine from this top winery and it is their winemaker’s – Marcus Wright -favourite wine
This lovely wine has an attractive nose of zesty lemon and passionfruit tied together with layers of fresh, herbaceous characters. The palate has wonderful fruit concentration with mineral undertones and is balanced by a fresh acidity. The finish is gentle and dry.
Food Pairing: Seafood, shellfish, salads, feta, goat cheese, fresh herbs, Vietnamese-style dishes, garlic prawns, light Thai dishes or enjoy just as a refreshing glass of expressive, stylish Sauvignon Blanc!
